Three men in a boat

The last couple of weeks has just been one of those times when you begin to wonder what else life is going to throw at you. These times are usually made infinitely more stressful knowing that the deadline is looming for another event. Then you switch the news on and events happening around the world put everything back in to perspective....

This poem by Jerome K Jerome (1859-1927),an English writer and humorist could have been written for the modern world....

'Let your boat of life be light,
packed with only what you need-
a homely home and simple pleasures,
one or two friends, worth the name,
someone to love and someone to love you,
a cat, a dog and a pipe or two,
enough to eat and enough to wear,
and a little more than enough to drink:
for thirst is a dangerous thing.'

I made it back into the studio after time out -back to watercolour paper with pencil, ink and paint.Time to rebuild the energy levels....starting with Standing Stones....
